Do guys find glasses attractive? Are glasses attractive on a woman? And there are many more similar questions. As a glasses wearer, you will be plagued with these questions every day you step out of your home.

If you are down on luck, your mood will go downhill. You will keep thinking, do these spectacles on your eyes adding to your personality or taking away from you. Are your round glasses making you look kind or gullible? Well, tricky question, isn’t it?

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. You might appear incredible, elegant, or have all the pleasant qualities you want to show off if the looker can appreciate it. They might have a good impression of you or a bad one. And us millennials, whose notions are shaped from silver screens and Disney tales, glasses don’t feel appealing.

We learned to not appreciate glasses because of movies like Princess Diaries or every teen adult movie. It’s where a geeky guy is a side character meant to be a bread shuttle. Glasses seemed iffy in school and even after school.

Since my school days, I have been a glasses wearer and acquainted with many such wannabe cool kids. How silly it was.

The perception changed after many superhero movies where the main character was geeky but secretly saving the world. You think?

Well, it didn’t stop anyone from teasing to an end. So, are glasses attractive? Not to everyone. Glasses make you appear intelligent. And when you are intelligent, you are more into books, and nobody likes bookworms. Correction. Not everyone.

Not everyone can be like Peter Parker and get their MJ. But some can. If not MJ, somebody else.

No longer just Geeky

Do you know how many glasses wearers there are worldwide? It’s approximately 4 billion who have some sort of vision defect and require vision correction like glasses, contacts or Lasik surgery. With these many people wearing glasses, the general perception about glasses wearers being intelligent and not fun is slowly changing.

In earlier days, only scholars wore glasses. They read a lot, damaging their eyesight. So, if you wear glasses, you might be spending your free time reading some books in the corner of your home.

But now, most people do not prefer books for leisure. They would be stuck on their digital devices, either watching some movie or playing games. Watching movies or playing games do not make you smarter (some do with their brilliant plot). So you will not be treated as intelligent anymore.

You might get labelled as an internet addict. Well, most people are, as you can evidently see that wherever you go. In the metro or public transportation, you can get on wearing any weird costume. Dress up like a peacock if you please. Nobody will raise an eyebrow as nobody can raise their head above their phone.

You can be a glasses wearer and may not be as intelligent as you appear. Or you can be a glasses wearer and a fun person. Have you ever seen Iris Apfel? She is 100 and still modelling, and that too with her glasses. So, does glasses make you unattractive? Let’s leave it to your eyes.

Not exactly a new thing. It’s not even a 2000s thing. Many celebs or even ordinary people have been wearing eyeglasses with no actual requirement of vision aids.

You will think, why would anyone with perfect vision wear glasses. It’s like holding a walking stick for fashion. That’s an extreme example, but apparently, many glasses-wearers have said that about fake glasses wearers.

You do this in the 90s, and the glasses wearer will get offended saying it’s uncool. Now you do that; nobody bats an eye. Glasses are, after all, fashion accessories.

There are glasses with elegant style, bold style, quirky and eccentric appearance. You can wear any style of glasses and add more edge to your appeal. You don’t just appear intelligent but more than that. Attractive? Let’s leave the decision again to you.

People have different parameters for their partners. You might find someone very, very unattractive while your friend instantly clicks with that person. It’s just that there is a checklist in your mind. More ticks mean you are attracted to them.

If glasses make you think they are attractive, they probably are. You can see many celebrities wearing glasses. They look gorgeous with or without glasses.

Well, they are celebrities who spend an effort to look good. And you, as a glasses wearer, can be attractive too.
