Have a fun trip planned up? Cool!

Have you packed yet?

If you are someone who wears glasses, there are a few extra things you need to put on your checklist. Of course you must carry the essentials such as your ID, wallet, phone, camera, laptop and keys but, don’t forget to give equal consideration to your eyeglasses as well.

Travelling with eyeglasses

When you are on a vacation, you want to make the most of those beautiful sights. But you cannot do that with broken glasses, can you? Cramming your fragile eyewears into the bag can damage them and make the whole trip quite unpleasant. Even if you don’t wear prescription glasses, taking a pair of sunnies on a beach day will only protect your eyes.

We understand how forgetting your glasses at home or damaging them while travelling can do to your trip. So, here we are with a quick list to help you avoid any eyewear emergency and enjoy your trip to the fullest.

Keep a spare pair

Having an extra pair with the same prescription will help in case you break your old pair. You can be the most careful person in the world but trouble does not come knocking. Misplacing or breaking your eyeglasses is something that you don’t want to happen on a vacation.

If you are flying to your destination, make sure you have an extra pair of prescription glasses in your carry on. This will avoid the fuss in case you misplace your luggage in the flight or break your glasses while loading or unloading your luggage.

Keep them in a hard case

Storing your glasses in a hard case will protect them from any physical damage. Leaving your eyewear on your head will increase the chances of them being lost or broken. You can use a neck strap to make sure your glasses remain with you. Even if they do fall off, they won’t go far.

Take along your prescription

Accidents can happen to anybody. It is always safe to take necessary precautions to avoid the mishappenings. Even if you have packed an extra pair, taking a copy of your eyewear prescription will come in handy in case you need a new pair in a different place. You don’t have to carry a physical copy of your prescription because you can lose it too. Consider keeping an online copy, for example, you can email your prescription to yourself.

Don’t forget the adjustment kit

Your glasses may need a little fix while you are travelling. Keeping a screwdriver with you will sort the urgency of tightening your glasses. Also, you must not forget your cleaning cloth as you might need to clean your glasses or your camera lenses from time to time.

How about prescription sunglasses?

If your trip involves mountains or beaches, make a smart move and carry along a pair of prescription sunglasses. They will protect your eyes from the UV light while giving you a stylish look. Using sunglasses with polarized lenses will help you avoid glare when you look at a reflective surface like water.

Travelling is fun but if you break your glasses while travelling is nothing short of a nightmare. But with these handy tips, you are all set for your next trip.
